Addressing climate change

Climate change presents very serious global risks and demands a concerted response. It also offers challenges and economic opportunities for environmentally-led growth over the long-term.

The RDAs seek to help realise sustainable economic development of their regions and prepare their regions for a low carbon future. In particular, RDAs bring regional leadership and focus to decisions and plans that address climate change.

The RDAs lead a wide range of initiatives to secure environmental and social benefits together with economic development for regional communities. They help businesses focus on carbon reduction, drive the growth of innovative businesses through R&D support, create sustainable energy markets and attract global investment in environmental products and services to our regions.
